We will be finishing our winter writing this week. We have been practicing using our writing rules; capital letters at the beginning, finger spaces between words, and periods at the end of the sentences. The kids are really improving and are excited to bring home their writing soon when we switch themes. Please encourage your child to share what they've learned about the winter animals - polar bears, penguins, arctic foxes, and arctic terns. They also love to discuss the seasons and snow.
We have been using cubes to show how to add and subtract groups of numbers. The students are also taking turns counting aloud numbers 1-75. They love to show what they know and read aloud our sight words. Ask your child to sing the HAVE song and show you the bouncy HAVE dance. This is Kindness Week. We will have fun activities at lunch for the kids to participate in. We also have three spirit days! Tuesday is dress like your favorite sports team. Wednesday is crazy hair day. Thursday is pajama day. |
