Have you enjoyed listening to your little readers at home? As the kids master their letter sounds, they really enjoy showing off their new skills at the grocery story, while in the car, and with the little books. I encourage your students to practice those sight words daily. Quickly recognizing the sight words that typically can't be sounded out makes reading much less effortless. When it clicks, it clicks! You can see a complete Sight Word List on the Home Help page of this website.
You are probably also hearing lots of numbers... from 1 - 100. We practice counting daily. Please encourage your child to say the numbers aloud to you and help them when they get stuck. Please remind your kids that it's not a race. They love to go as fast as possible and try it one breath! |
