This week we are working on learning to write letters Rr, Ss, Tt, Uu, and Vv as well as number 4. I know the homework packet may seem repetitive this month, but it's extremely helpful in September. Please monitor if your child is starting the letter from the top line. Some are still starting at the bottom line. I tell them the top line is near the sun and bottom line is the dirt. We don't want our letters getting dirty. If your child is writing clear letters, you can work on increasing the writing speed. You'll see a new writing component to the homework packet this week. Please have them trace then independently write the sentence - I am (their name).
Some of the kids have now begun only working on letter SOUND flashcards. It will say on the flashcard that it is the letter name or letter sound. Please let me know if you need help. We have begun Running Club. We run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday first thing before we enter the classroom. Students in our class have already run/jog/walked between 2 and 3.5 miles! Please make sure your child has appropriate shoes for the track. We've had a few friends forget the waterbottles. Please remember to send one labeled with their name each morning. I appreciate it!
