cThis week the shift in writing begins! You'll notice how much more confidently your child writes his or her name. We have also learned how to write and identify the letters and sounds of the first half of the alphabet.
Today we played our first bean bag letter game of the year. The kids loved it! Not only did we practice our letter names and sounds but learned how to throw underhand and catch a flying object. A fun way to bring this game home is to tape a letter flashcard to a folded sock and throw it back and forth while saying the sound and name. When reading with your child, encourage him or her so identify letters A-N. It's very exciting for them to see the connections from school to home. Thank you for the support of having the kids complete their homework packets. Feel free to reuse the pages with different colored crayons or pens throughout the week. The more practice the better.
